Frontend

I create highly optimized templates that scale, load quickly and are dynamic and responsive. I strive to bring the native application behavior to the web.

  • Large scale website framework planning and implementation
  • Unobstructive code that scales easily without hindering performance
  • Setting up CDN: Amazon S3 + CloudFront
  • Load performance: minifying assets, reducing number of http requests
  • Efficient use of CSS frameworks such as Sass, LessCSS and CSScaffold

Scripting

I create complex multi-interface applications for desktop and portable devices as well as dynamic website modules.

Project production

I provoke online projects to hatch. I shepherd the way from scope to launch, to scaling to optimization.

  • Requirement gathering, scoping a project, converting ideas into detailed specifications
  • Creating wireframes and working out UX solutions
  • Managing resources – making sure no one is blocked and everyone is on track
  • Tracking progress through iterations, delivering intermediate working/demoable versions during development
  • Outsourcing and managing offshore resources – over the past years I have worked with and directed offshore developers, designers, SEO and QA teams on a regular basis
  • Team player, this one is important! To be swift and successful you have to have a clear and ready communications. Be it in person, chat, tools like basecamp, campfire, emails or tickets, communication is efficiency.

Backend

  • I'm not a heavy lifting backend developer but have no problem digging into code be it in a template, controller or class.
  • Proficient in PHP (5 years experience)
  • Comfortable with RoR

I haz a personality

I was born in Lithuania, but grew up the in States (Brooklyn, NY and Springfield, MA). For the last two years I've lived in the Netherlands, currently I'm currently in Singapore or exploring South East Asia. So far I've visited about 65+ locations in 22 countries and eager to add more to the list.

My first programming experience was in 2000 (when I was 12), toyed around with Visual Basic 5.

I like good music, tasty food, inspiring books, cold beer, enlightening experiences, fast bicycles, crowded cities, getting off the beaten path, finding nemo the meaning and the satisfaction of being great at life. I'm a positive and enthusiastic guy who loves what he does.
